Bruce Jenner earned his place among the world's greatest athletes after breaking Olympic records and bringing America home the gold medal for decathlon in 1976. After his Olympic success, Bruce continued to lend his motivational spirit to endorsements, speaking engagements and acting.
In his extensive career, Bruce has served as a commercial spokesperson, acclaimed sports commentator, entrepreneur, author and producer. He is also a former professional race car driver who competed in high profile race events around the world. Recently, Bruce has opened up about his personal life on a reality television series. Until now, however, Bruce and his wife Kris have not shared their family's personal battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Kris lost both her grandparents to emphysema, a form of COPD. Bruce remembers the tremendous toll the debilitating disease took on his loved ones and the strain it placed on his tight-knit family. So now, he is dedicated to jumping a new hurdle: spreading the word about COPD by teaming up with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. on the DRIVE4COPD campaign.
DRIVE4COPD is a multi-year public health initiative designed to focus national attention on this common disease and screen the millions of people who may be at risk for it.
As part of the "Race for the Missing Millions," Bruce is competing with other members of the DRIVE4COPD Race Team to see if he can screen the most people who may be at risk for COPD. Check back often to track Bruce's success, or simply take the five-question COPD screener online and vote for Bruce!
