The DRIVE4COPD Race Team

Actor Jim Belushi is a multifaceted performer, well-known most recently for his eight seasons starring in and executive producing ABC's hit Emmy-nominated sitcom, "According to Jim." Since his start at The Second City in Chicago over thirty years ago, Jim has shown to be one of the great leading character actors equally at home in drama and comedy, as well as a gifted performer who can hold a room as the front man of his rhythm and blues band, The Sacred Hearts. He also joins Dan Aykroyd in performing as The Blues Brothers. In addition to playing clubs, casinos and corporate events, The Blues Brothers have opened for The Rolling Stones as well as played with President Clinton.

Jim made his television debut in 1979. In 1983 he joined "Saturday Night Live" and, since then, has appeared on Broadway, television and in movies including "About Last Night," the "K-9" franchise, "The Principal," "Curly Sue" and "Return to Me." Throughout his eclectic career Jim has had the pleasure of collaborating with Michael Mann, Walter Hill, Oliver Stone, David Mamet, and, most recently, Roman Polanski. He has also provided the voice in a number of animated works including "Hey Arnold!" "Hoodwinked" and "The Wild."

His latest venture is taking him on a brand new path: spreading information about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) through the DRIVE4COPD campaign. As a loving father of three, Jim is committed to raising awareness about COPD, a disease that deeply affected his father's health and currently affects his aunt.

He has teamed up with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., on the DRIVE4COPD campaign, a multi-year public health initiative designed to focus national attention on this common and debilitating disease and screen the millions of people who may be at risk for it, in hopes that no one has to suffer from this disease that has closely affected his family.

As part of the "Race for the Missing Millions," Jim is competing with other members of the DRIVE4COPD Race Team to see if he can screen the most people who may be at risk for COPD. Check back often to track Jim's success, or simply take the five-question COPD screener online and vote for Jim!
